Xenia's Journey
Xenia Pace Rhodes was born in East Point, Georgia, on August 31, 1989, to renowned gospel powerhouse Tarrian LaShun Pace Rhodes and Edward Randolph Rhodes, Jr.
At the age of 2, Xenia had her first experience with God while listening to the late Rev. James Cleveland’s song “There is Lifting For Me.”
She began her education at Old National Christian Academy (Kindergarten – Second Grade) and Campbell Elementary School (Third -Fifth Grade). She also attended Sixth Grade at Bear Creek Middle School.
Xenia, which means hospitable, gracious, cordial, touched every person that she came into her life or crossed her path. She was a God-fearing child who loved the Lord. From birth to age 7, she was a member of the Powerhouse of Deliverance Church of God in Christ (COGIC), where Bishop M.J. Pace was pastor. She later became a member of Holy Trinity COGIC, under the leadership of Elder Dennis L. Martin, Sr., where she served faithfully until her passing on February 21, 2001.
It is believed that Xenia’s death was linked to deep depression as well as an enlarged heart, caused by the strain of being overweight. Xenia’s family had a history of obesity.
